Ice Fishing is Here!

HI GUYS

I wanted to wih you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We are Ice Fishing can you believe it??!! Just a week or two ago we were fishing for "Bass and Pike" cause the water was too warm for the salmon fishing and now, we have put the boats away because everything is freezing up. Our fall salmon fishing is done before it even got started?! It is absolutely "Unbelievable,” not because we are ice fishing, cause we normally are at this time, But that everything changed so "Fast!” Here are the photos from this past month, as you can see, some great bass and pike photos!! Not only big smallmouths, but some really nice largemouth and pike! The largemouth and pike fishing is usually over by mid-November? Some of those Pike were near 20 lbs!

Well I guess the open water fishing is over for this year! I am so disappointed cause I really wanted to catch some salmon for my smoker? Oh Well?

SHOWTIMES

Speaking of the shows, so far we will only be attending 2 shows this year. Over the years a lot of the Sport shows we`ve attended have gone under or we just have done well at the others.

ICE FISHING

These photos are from last winter and they are just from our lake, Long Pond. As you can see, we have plenty of perch, pike, crappie, largemouth, and smallmouth. During the winter, all bass have to be returned to the water cause the season is closed in New York, but you will catch a lot thru the ice on our lake, so bring a camera. Willsboro Bay, which is a part of Lake Champlain is just a couple of miles from the lodge, has Lake Trout, Salmon, Perch, and Smelt fishing. It didn`t freeze last winter, but usually does by mid-January. So as you can see, within just a few miles of our lodge you can catch almost all species of fish. As you might know, each year I offer an Ice Fishing special for those who have never ice fished before and/or have no equipment and would like to learn. For just the price of our lodging and meals packages, I will personally teach you myself on Long Pond. I have all the equipment and all you have to do is bring yourself, and some warm clothes of course. My guiding is FREE! The only thing is, is that it has to be when I am not at one of the shows I mentioned earlier. The only other cost would be for the live bait we use. By the end of your trip you will know if you like ice fishing or not, without having to spend the money for the equipment to find out.
