Pete Casamento Inducted in
SBDC Hall of Fame!!!!
O n
March 30, 2004, Pete Casamento/Adirondack-Champlain Guide
Service, was
inducted
into the New York State Small
Business
Development
Center’s “Hall of Fame” at a ceremony held in Albany, New
York.
This was the 20th anniversary of the SBDC. The Hall of
Fame celebrates individuals who have distinguished themselves and
who have significant achievements to their credit and have made
outstanding contributions to their communities. These people are
“The Best of the Best”.
P ete
Casamento has been a licensed North Country
guide and expert fisherman for more than 30 years. His family-owned
and operated business,
Adirondack-Champlain
Guide Service is the largest guide service in northern New York.
Pete and a cadre of 14 part-time guides help more than 1,000 clients
a year catch the “big fish”. His lodge,
offered
exclusively to fishermen and their families—it is not a resort
lodge—is in easy striking distance of the lakes, ponds, streams and
rivers of the Adirondack Park. The Casamento’s are a family group
with Jane cooking for the guests and handling the financial needs of
the business.
Their son Casey,
works at Plattsburgh State University where he graduated from in 2005. He is
also a licensed New York State guide and works for the family business as a
guide.
P ete
markets his guide service through sports shows, newsletters and his
website. He knows where to fish for the best bass, salmon, trout
and pike fishing. Most guest reservations come in well in advance
of the opening of the season. Pete has been instrumental in
promoting bass fishing tournaments in the Lake Champlain Region.
This effort annually brings over $2 million to the region and
continues to grow. He is currently advocating a growth and
resurgence of the walleyed pike to the area, especially on the New
York
side of Lake Champlain.
